The Autism Centre is a family-founded autism assessment service with lived experience of autism. We provide specialist autism assessments for children, young people and adults across the UK, combining clinical expertise with an approach shaped by genuine understanding of autistic people and their families.

We recognise autism as a natural and valuable variation of human neurology. Autistic people bring their own strengths, perspectives and ways of experiencing the world, and our approach to autism assessment and diagnosis is rooted in respect, affirmation and meaningful support.

Our highly skilled clinicians are experienced in assessing children, young people and adults, including people with more complex presentations. We are committed to providing a thorough, compassionate and affirming diagnostic experience. Whether you are seeking clarity, greater self-understanding or access to support, we aim to make the assessment process clear, respectful and centred on your individual experiences.

As a family-founded service with lived experience of autism, our understanding of the assessment journey extends beyond clinical practice. We understand the questions, uncertainty and practical challenges that can accompany seeking an autism assessment, both for the person being assessed and for their family. That experience influences how we communicate, how we design our services and how we support people throughout the assessment process.

The Autism Centre is based in the UK and provides autism assessments nationwide. Remote appointments are available through secure video consultations, allowing people to access appropriate parts of the assessment process from their own home. We also provide face-to-face appointments at our Bridgend clinic in South Wales, with good road access from Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Bristol and the Midlands.

Our goal is not simply to reach a diagnostic conclusion. We want people to leave the assessment process with a better understanding of themselves or their child, a clear explanation of the outcome and useful information about what may come next.
