About Us

The Autism Centre is an independent autism diagnostic and support centre based in Bridgend, South Wales. We have a number of highly skilled clinicians who perform our diagnostic assessments.

We offer appointments either in our Bridgend clinic rooms, which are conveniently located with easy motorway access for Bristol, Newport, Cardiff and Swansea; or remotely via Google Meet or Microsoft Teams to provide an online, UK-wide service.

Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist | Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner

Jenny is a highly experienced neurodevelopmental clinician and clinical leader with almost 20 years' experience in autism assessment and diagnosis across NHS and specialist services. Her expertise encompasses complex differential diagnosis, multidisciplinary clinical leadership, service development and the delivery of NICE-compliant autism assessments for children, young people and adults.

Jenny was instrumental in establishing the West Wales Integrated Autism Service, leading its development from inception into an operational multidisciplinary service. As Clinical Lead and Team Leader, she was responsible for developing diagnostic pathways, establishing clinical governance and safeguarding procedures, recruiting and supervising clinicians, and ensuring the service delivered assessments in accordance with NICE guidelines.

Her expertise extends beyond direct clinical practice. Jenny has contributed to the development and review of national autism policy, working alongside the Welsh Local Government Association and professional colleagues on initiatives including the Welsh Autism Code of Practice and national neurodevelopmental service demand and capacity reviews.

Throughout her career, Jenny has supported the professional development of other clinicians through supervision, mentoring, second opinions and diagnostic report quality assurance. Her extensive clinical experience includes complex presentations involving co-occurring neurodevelopmental, communication and mental health conditions, where careful differential diagnosis and multidisciplinary clinical judgement are essential.

Jenny is recognised for her meticulous, evidence-led approach and her commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice. As Clinical Lead of The Autism Centre, she brings together extensive diagnostic expertise, proven service leadership and an uncompromising commitment to clinical quality, ensuring that every assessment is thorough, individualised and guided by sound clinical evidence.
